General Maintenance & Repairs - Alternator

Hey everyone so I have a 2000 z28 and I replaced the alternator and now it whines and the security light came on also but I'm not sure if they are related any ideas?

Rebuilt? Take it back.

thanks for the help i'm taking it back on monday but now my security system is acting up again im going to buy the bypass module that gets rid of the whole security system, has anyone bought one?

Rebuilt alternators and rebuilt power steering pumps often don't work out well. (The mass production re-builders must re-use marginal parts, like voltage regulators and pressure relief valves.)

Are you talking about a VATS bypass? Are you having problems with it?
