Default I shaved for you...

OK... I didn't really shave for you - I shaved for me.

I have run with WhiteBird00's hidden antenna mod for a while and have been ready to get rid of the old stock antenna. I've had the power antenna unplugged for a while but haven't been loving the inert stub sticking out of the fender.

Fortunately, a 16 year old driver (less than 2 weeks with a license) decided to flatten my right rear fender. Her insurance company paid for a re-paint of the right rear quarter, so I decided it was a great time to shave the antenna and weld up the stock hole:

So where exactly can you purchase the hidden one from? A tech member?

Also, how does the reception between the hidden antenna and the stocker compare?

I would guess the same or maybe even better. Antenna technology has come a long way.

Yeah, but so far I haven't really found many positive reviews online so far.

Sorry... I should have posted the thread on the hidden antenna. All the details are in this thread: https://ls1tech.com/forums/stereo-el...m-antenna.html

The reception isn't as good as the stock antenna, but its pretty close. With the hidden antenna, I can't get radio stations as far away as the stock and it doesn't like being around large metal structures. (large bridges, etc.)

In a nutshell: this is great around populated areas. this is not so great way outside of the city.

The big bonus is instant-on radio. With the hidden antenna, I don't have to wait for the mast to go up before the radio comes on.

Quick Reply: I shaved for you...
