like the title says.. I install LT hedders and a TSP duals and not only did I get an SES light but the airbag light came on as well. local tuner cleared the SES (due to EGR) but cant touch the airbag light. he said its in the BCM and not the PCM. any clue as to why this would come on and how the heck to get it to go off? I thought about swinging by the chevy dealership to see if they could reset it or something. any ideas?

If that light is on, something is unplugged or broken. If you find someone who can scan the BCM, it should give you a good indication of what problem you need to fix.

The BCM is not involved in the air bag circuit. It has its own control module mounted under the center console. I seriously doubt that installation of headers could affect it because there would be no reason to be under the console. But the first thing I would check is the AIRBAG fuse (15A in slot #10). And if it turns out to be just the fuse, you might want to find yourself a different tuner who knows more about these cars.

perhaps a damaged clockspring during steering shaft service
