How many M6 owners run ET Street or Slicks on stock rear?
I have a '00 Z28 6-speed.
After getting the exhaust done. I dropped my times from a 13.6@105 to a 13.2@108. I'm itching to break into the 12's, but the only way to do that is to run either ET Streets or some Slicks... I was gonna borrow a set of ET Streets at the track this weekend, but I was advised against it because the rears are so weak?
Would I break my rear w/one or two passes on et streets.. I want to see 12's.

I actually asked a similar question awhile ago. Basically, if you heat the tires up real good and dead hook=
Your best bet would be a set of Nittos or BFG drag radials. You still have wheel spin, but they hook MUCH better than regular street tires.

lol, I heated up some Nitto's pretty well and they hooked good enough to break my driveshaft. Once you start using any kind of sticky tire, your going to increase the risk of breaking something. Have either spare parts of an "oh-****' savings acct that incase that happens, and make sure you have some saftey equiptmen on your car, driveshaft saftey loop to name one

I used Nitto's at the track last weekend for the first time and it wasn't pretty I can't say if it was track prep or I just cant drive, but the best 60ft I had was a 2.038, funny thing was I had a couple of 1.9's on the stock F1's at the same track 6 mths earlier I John Forced the crap out of these tires and left from 1500--4000 rpm and the results were the same.(14 passes). 15lbs pressure. I was supposed to have a trailer available for the ride home so i didn't try the slicks that were available, maybe next time
I cut 1.60's all of the time on my stock rear. Running 12.0's all day long. No problems yet.
M6 though?
There are a few people doing that. Hell, I heard someone was running mid 10's with an M6. 3.42 gears though!
You probably don't want to go to lower gears with the stock rear and decent tires in a M6 car.
