Street Racing & Kill Stories - 01 z28 vs C6 z06

So it was the first time I have ever raced at the drag strip. My car has full exhaust, tune, and nitto 555r dr. My 3rd race I pulled up and nobody was next to me so I figured I would run solo. But then a c6 z06 pulled up. "Wow." all I could think of. Well the track wasn't hooking up for anybody this weekend so that had something to do with it for sure. But I beat him! By .058 seconds. He did have a faster time but I tree'd him good. My buddy took a video on his iPhone. Sorry the quality is crap. I'm in left lane.

What did both cars run? Time slip?

It was a crappy run for both of us. He ran a 13.6 and I ran a 14.0. He beat me on time but my reaction was .2 and his was like .6. I'll upload the time slip tomorrow. The fastest pass I made was only a 13.6 at 108. I wasn't heating the nittos up good enough apparently because I spun like crazy. I had to rev to like 1100 rpm and dump clutch to grab. I plan on going back this weekend and playing with it some more. I think with a little practice I can run a high 12.

The time starts when you pass the staging lane. But whoever crosses the line fist without red lighting wins. So he had a faster time. But I got him on the launch. But it was just a great feeling to know that I beat him. His car has minimum 505 hp. I couldnt tell exactly what year it was. And he was probably new to the track as well as me. Just a confidence booster. I had a fun time and it was just cool to know that technically I took a z06. Bad driver or not. @ Texas Motorplex in Ennis Tx.

I agree. He ran 4 tenths faster. The ZO6 won.

And he beats you across the line but you run a faster 1/4 seconds after he is finished. You won the race? I don't quite understand. I know for a fact that his car is far faster than mine. He trapped at 117 mph me at 108. I'm just saying in an actual drag race I beat him.

Maybe he was working out a good spot to launch, and at the time the light went green he didn't go because he wasn't ready yet.

Very possible. That's what I'm getting at. I'm not saying my car is faster by any means. All i am saying is that being the first time at the track, I finished first .05 seconds before a z06. And I'm sure it was a c6. He could have missed a gear or not been ready to start or whatever. All I'm saying is that it was fun and I had a laugh over it.

Just cs the car is capable don't mean the driver is. Kinda like the ZR1 owner I ran into at SAR. He ran 12.3-13.4 all night trapping 118-124.

In a street or heads up race, sure, you beat him. But you guys were on a timed track where ETs are what matters. Either way, you crossed the line first, so good run. Its always nice to get to the other end first against a faster car! Not trying to take away from your runs man.

it was probably a zo6 badged c6.. people do that ya know..
