Is there a set of 3.89 gears that I can put in my 9', it currently has 4.30's in it so I assume its a 4 series carrier?

Did some digging seems the 9inch rear doesnt have carrier sizes all gears sizes work in the 9's.

You could just go with a slightly taller tire. That isn't that huge of a jump.

Even with 27inch tire I'll come up short, new cam will get me close to 120 ish on 100 shot I'll be creeping up on 130 thats to much MPH for a 430.
Bob you first on my list to do this you helped me on the phone several times.

I have all the 9" internals and gears from Yukon, US Gear, and Motive Performance on the shelf. From bearings to shims to posi units I have anything you need for a 9 inch rear. Give me a call and I can set you up with the correct parts at the best prices.

What tire size are you running currently? Why not go to a 28?

Dont want to hack the car up but it is a posiabitity. I can do my own gears ive did it for years. Tires are in the $300 range and a gear swap is about the same for price. I know a 4.30 gear with 28 inch tire will be better for traction, might have to think about that.

Can I even fit a 28 inch tire on the car? I have Racestars on the car right now with 275 50R 15 et streets.

I fit 28 11.5's on my 98 with no problems other than the pinch weld in the wheel well rubbing. A little bfh and it was fine.

I had stock 275/40/17 drag radials with 3.90s. I went to a 28" rear tire (275/60/15) and 4.33 gears. It drives nicer, hooks better, has better wheel speed in 1st (accelerates faster), and looks nicer.
