I'm swapping my LT to LS. I have an 04 LQ9 short block, lingenfelter ported ls3 heads/ intake and fuel rail/ injectors. I've ordered a custom cam from EPS and in effort to achieve the most power out of my combo, I need some suggestions on which head gasket to use. Preferably thinner than stock to bump up the compression a bit. I am aware and planned on fly cutting the pistons to be on the safe side. Any help would be appreciated.

Paul

Alot of places sell the thinner gaskets think there is a.041 size. You coul also mill the heads to get a higher comp ratio. What tyoe of comoression are you wanting?

What piston are you going to run?

I got .040 cometic gaskets from TSP.

We sell a lot of the Cometic .040" gaskets. If you are willing to flycut that would be the way to go in my opinion.

Thanks for the replys. I plan on using the stock LQ9 short block. I'd like to achieve close to 11.5:1 . Sounds like the .040 is the way to go, thanks

Just received the head gaskets from texas speed and now I'm on to which timing chain to use. C5R or is there something else out there that's the better?

There is no better bud, does the block have the bolt holes to put an Ls2 chain dampner?

Thanks Zeke and Justin. I'll check the block tonight to see if it can accept a t/c damper. forgot to bring home my balancer puller last night
