Good evening Eastern Seaboard folks! I recently purchased a high mileage '98 Camaro SS and while I plan on trying to do a lot of mechanical work myself, there are some things like a torque convertor and some body work that I will leave to the pros. So, with that, are there any trustworthy performance or body shops in the Rochester area? Thanks

Bump for New Era, the guys there are great and Mike, the owner, has been tuning LS series cars for over a decade now.

I would definitely give the guys over at New Era Performance a call. They know their stuff and will take care of you.

Excellent, I appreciate it. As for not knowing, apparently adblock/noscript blocks the whole sponsor list lol. Additionally, I'm about as new as new can get to the performance world so I'm trying to get my feet wet with the right crowd...I just ordered a few of the recommended reads from one of the stickies and it's time to get down to business. If any Rochester folks work on their cars together I'd love to be a part of it, I have little to no knowledge so far, but look forward to learning through doing. I'll bring the beer...

Currently living in Gates off Chili Ave, but we just put our house up for sale as I took a new job. Now we're looking at the East Side (Macedon) or South of Henrietta. My goal really is just to learn how to do the basic stuff myself and utilize New Era for the high performance stuff. if all goes as planned, I'll learn how to do stuff like fluid changes, exhaust, engine work like intake/heads. A lot of learning to do before then though...The camaro I bought has 140k miles on it, so I figure I need to learn how to do all of the maintanence first and foremost, I can't stand paying $100 for a fluid change when that money could go towards mods... Your Z28 looks pretty badass from your sig...

I had my original cam install done by them and tuned. I also had my new setup tuned by mike, always spot on never needing adjustments. He will work with you on anything and very reasonable.

Tried to head out to New Era performance today and discovered they're not open on the weekends which is too bad. Anyways, I think there are two quarter mile tracks around? Spencer Speedway and then one off the side of I-90 between Buffalo and Rochester. Which one do you folks prefer?
