New LS1 Owners - Newbie Tech - New Blackwing filter

Hi all, just bought a new Blackwing filter, i know you can clean the old ones, but i have a SLP flopac installed and being in London the Filter was so black i didn't think it was worth trying to clean, anyway, can you just insert the new filter? or do you have to use the recharging oil on it first? I thought it would come with some oil you have to glaze over it to help with filtration?
