I'm thinking of swapping my 3.23s up to a 3.42. My question is, will the 3.42s use the same posi unit? I'm thinking they should, but i've been wrong before lol

yes it ill be the same but why swap? 3.23 to 3.42 is hardly anything I'd just keep the 3.23's if i were you

well its basically a stock car and don't really plan on modding any further since i have my project truck. just looking for a little better acceleration when i'm at the track.

3.23s' to 3.42s' will equal a 6 % increase in torque to the rear wheels, you'll feel it,BUT is it worth it. Speedometer will need to be corrected. Taking the rear apart and setting pinion depth and gear lash and maybe not having the gearset run quiet, not worth it !
If you were dropping in a complete 3.42 rearend of compatable channel, that would improve making it worth it,but still not.

Not worth the hassle of the swap.

I'd go 3.73 or 3.90 if I was changing

stall first,3600-4000
gears second,3.73s' are the preffered for autos
either will be felt, gears for improved acceleration, convertor for getting in the higher power band quicker.
