General LSX Automobile Discussion - Head ???

Dumb question here but are all the LS heads the same diamentions on the outside? I havea ls1 block and need some heads for mock up purposes. The
ls1 heads are cheap but i am going to be running a LSX block with LS7 heads and just want to be sure all the outside specs are the same!

I dont know about the outside, but i know the ls7's are not cathedral like the ls1 heads.

I know all the ports and valves sizes are different just did not know if the physical size is different so i dont mock something up with say a LS1 head and use a LS7 head that a different size.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I believe ls7 heads have a thicker deck making them a tad taller. Not sure if it would be enough to make a difference in your mock up or not.

I know my ls3 heads are identical to my ls1 heads aside from the valves and ports. But I've never pissed around with ls7 heads tho.

The ports are different and thus the bolt pattern is different enough to prevent a ls1/2/3/6 intake from fitting. The heads are a little taller if sitting on the deck.

From what I read all the heads are the same bolt pattern even the 6bolt but the valve sizing and port type dictate the bore and intake needed. I have not seen the stock LS7 heads are thicker but this is why I'm asking! I know the aftermarket heads are thicker but don't know if that affects the overall height.
