The problem is I was wanting to run my ZR1's on the street but I will have to do alot of stuff to make them work with the 5/8 studs.
What size are you guys running? 12mm 1/2 or 5/8?
I will be picking up a set of Street Lites or Race Stars for track duty or any racing I will be doing.
I guess I could always just buy 4 rears. One set or dr's and the other for my slicks.

Strange 1/2" screw in 3" long studs. What does make a huge difference is the magshank lug nut associated with drag wheels. 3500 lbs, about 5500 rpm off my two step, 400 hp at the tire. This year I'm giving the race star unilug wheel a try with 26x10.5 et streets. Had my first outing last weekend and found out need rim screws. I was eating up 1/2 studs and sheared a set of 12mm on the left side last year. All due to acorn style lug nuts

5/8 studs now at ~ 825rwhp and 3400lbs
last year i was on 3yr old 12mm arp 3" studs @ 770 rwhp and 3700lbs launching 6000-7000. never broke any but was always in the back of my head worrying. that was with a spool for the last year and street driving. spools hard on them and trying to launch a drag radial is hard on them

Yeah, I will be running a locker. It makes sense that a spool would really stress your studs with street driving.

Lockers and 6 speeds don't mix well. Ive had a many of trans builders tell me that. The locker plays hell on the gears by unlocking and locking all the time. There is no cushion. Autos dont have this problem.
I'm not an expert. Just relaying what I've read/heard.

You know I have heard all that to, but I have ridden in a 6speed locker car and I didn't think it was all that terrible. I had not head about it stressing the gears. Just some stuff about lock out and the general annoyance of using a lock with a 6-speed. Lots of mustang guys run lockers in their 8.8's with manuals.
