Can anyone tell me if a gen 1 small block chevrolet motor will fit in a newer model camaro, say a 2002 35th anniversary camaro? Is there anything special i should know? Or would it just be easier to modify one of the stock LS1's?

Im more familiar with the first generation camaros, i have a 1969 Camaro but wanted to build a newer one too. I was thinking of installing a 383 stroker in a 2002 Camaro.

Also as i understand there would be some work with the cars computer and may run into some inspection problems in north carolina. Is there anyone out there with some experience with this either?

Thanks for your comments, Jeff

Good kill man, what mods do you have again? I would never underestimate what those cars can put out.

My 69' Camaro is a stock 307 coupe, nothing wild, all of the parts were there when i bought it so it made more sence to keep the car stock rather than to go wild with it.

As for the 2002 Camaro its a stock 35th Anniversary Edition i havent had it nearly anytime.

Why would you put that old junk in it? It would have to be a really good 383 just to keep up with a solid bolt-on ls1.

A 383 wouldn't have a prayer against a full bolt on/cammed LS1. Bad choice in my opinion. Plus why get 10 mpg when you can get 18 with an engine with more power??

I like chasing squirrels. Turtles are too slow.

I like turtles as well.

Also, unless the car is already missing a motor, I think it would be dumb to take an LS1 out for an old small block. In your case, the motor is still there, so just build up the motor that's already there.

I'm with the rest of these guys I like turtles also. And that LS0 is complete junk if you will pay for the shipping to Texas I'll take it off your hands for a crisp $100 bill.
