hey just got a trans am pretty stock just headers n guy said it was tuned, has 6 spd,no cat, 3 inch exhaust all the way back ,took a plug out to look at them n they had ngk gapped at .035 one step colder, i know stock should be at .060, should i change them n put in some tr55s gap at .060? im gonna get a programmer should i wait to put in plugs then? which is the best programmer to buy?any help would be great thanx!

Personally after I buy a used car I do a spark plug change, oil change, ect... And yes, tr55's, can't remember exact gapping off the top of my head. I would steer clear of a programmer. For just bolt ons like you have I'd pull your PCM and sent it to "Frost" who is a member here on tech who does mail order tunes based on your mods. If you are planning to do a cam or something more than just bolt ons soon then find out where you can get a dyno tune in your area.
