Cam / convertor matching
I have a 98 c5 with a yank 3000 convertor, 3:42 gears, long tube headers and FLP trans. My questin is what is the biggest or best cam for my 3000 stall? I am seriously considering the TSP 231/237 but fear my convertor is too small.

whats the STR on the converter? i would stick with the tried and true TR224 cam... but even the bigger cams r making decent tq by 3500rpms, so u shouldn't be that bad with what u have...

For drivability concerns, the 3000 stall that you have will work very well with our 231/237 camshaft. For maximum performance, you will certainly benefit from added stall. If you had a 3,500 RPM stall speed torque converter, it would give you shift extensions somewhere in the neighborhood of 4500 RPM. That would work quite a bit better for any cammed setup, no matter how large or small the camshaft is.
The 231/237 cam will work fine for street driving with your 3,000 RPM stall torque converter, but you'll definitely benefit from a higher stall speed.
