hello all im looking for cam ideas...
what i have is a ls1 with flat tops, trick flow 215 cnc heads,
400 turbo trans in a 72 chevelle with a 373 gear
i plant to run the victor intake and the msd 6010 box
also a stall say around 3800 ???
i have not bought valve springs yet and i dont want to fly cut my pistons either, car will not be a dd just a weekend street strip car, looking for most power and the famous thump.
what would be a good cam for me???
ive been reading lower lsa is better? say around 110
i was orginally intrested in
the ms3 cam 237/242 .603"/.609 111
or the Vindicator cam 240/244 .608/.596 112+4

See if you can find a torqer v2, tight of lsa to 110 possible.

What are specs of that? What stall would you recomend. So is it true that 110 ls is the sweet spot?

Are those stock LS1 pistons without valve reliefs?
It's true that you want a more narrow LSA. This is because you generally want to open the intake valve sooner and close it sooner than a traditional cam for a EFI intake, but doing so will cause P to V issues if you have stock pistons.

They are stock style. Yes flat top no valve reliefs, the tightes i seen the torquer v2 is 111 lsa

I like choice #2. Or get something a little smaller for better street manners. I would find something in the FS section.

Yep, ran the torqer in efi and carb and it is a sweet cam, I think it will fit what you are lookin for. 3800 will be ok but 4200 or so would be my vote.

So would the torquer v2 be ok as a 111lsa?

Hell yes, we went 7.3 in the 1/8th mile with a LQ4, carbed with a 3500 converter and punk 3.42 gears in a 79 malibu, imagine if it had heads, 3.73s or better with a 4200 converter!

So my next question would be is if i go with the Texas Speed Torquer V2 232/234 .595"/.598" 111 lsa Camshaft item#dum25-trqrv2 dumdumdumdumdum
How would my ptv clearence be. With flat top pistons trick flow 215 heads not milled with gm mls gaskets?

We had plenty of room with flat tops in ls1 and lq9 applications with miller heads. But you should always check.
