Default '99 Z28 Fog Light Removal

I'd like to remove the stock fog lights and clean the lenses up a bit. Do I access those from above or below the car? It looks like there are two or three screws that hold each one in place.

Additionally, is there a plug-and-place replacement housing/bulb that will increase the distance of these lights? If I clean the lenses up well, then is there a better than stock bulb to use?

I searched, but didn't find much in the way of other threads.

Thanks

Bill

You can take them out from the bottom and you can disassemble it to clean. I cleaned them on my 01 ss I didnt really notice a differance. I sanded and used rubbing compound and and a polish but they were pitted way too bad. Doesnt hurt to clean tho yours might not be as bad as mine were. As for lights hids are the way to go in my opinon. Hope this helps.

Those lenses take a beating. On my 98 I ended up replacing one of them with a cheap aftermarket "oem style" from ebay and it actually worked decently well, at least in comparison to the original beat up one.

The real problem might be the chrome inside. It may have flaked off or corroded.

SparkyJJO would you happen to have a link to those you bought by chance?

After cleaning, a good hid kit bulb 880, 35 watts will be sufficient.
Anything else with highter wattage will melt the chrome in the foglight housing.
