Default I want into the 7's.

Hey guys, I've decided to throw some parts at my 98 z28. Its a bone stock auto, and I'd like to get it down into the 7's in the eighth mile. What's the easiest and cheapest way to get there WITHOUT nitrous?

I've got a guy with a 3000-3200 stall for $100 brand new, but I've heard anything under 3600 isnt worth the trouble.

Anyway, I'm thinking radials, a stall(size?), 4.10, lid, long tubes and exhaust aught to get it close.

thoughts?

With a 3600+stall and lt's with full exhaust and a lid and ls6 intake and a good tune you shouldn't have a problem going 7's on a drag radial. Weight reduction always helps.

With a stall, headers, lid and gears you should be well into the 7s if you have a good tire.

7s can be had with intake, exhaust and either gears OR stall...with both of those your goal is well within reach.

you should get a mail order tune after you have added all the parts you get.you mite need some good shocks and other suspension parts.check the ws6 store or Texas Speed for some of the parts you mite need.

Bolt ons plus a healthy stall. pt4000 was the one to have 5 years ago and it helped me to a 7.1 with heads and cam.

Like mentioned above bolt-on's and a stall with sticky tires will help you reach your goal easily enough. I don't know about a $100 stall converter though unless its a name brand and your guy is hooking you up. A stall is one part where I would not just buy whatever is cheapest.
