Florida Members - Got a new DD

I just picked this up friday. 160K miles bone stock A4 with 2.73's. Bought it from the second owner. Clean, could use a drivers seat and a tune up and some paint work but I got a great deal on it. It runs great, no leaks as far as I can tell; I'm gonna drive the hell out of this thing while I do some surgery on my vette(Cam and possibly some heads) . Only pic I currently have (The car is at my brothers in Jacksonville until I can get the tag next week.) The car was driven by a 62 year old woman, who has had it since 2003.

I'm not sure yet what I am going to do with it, probably just a lid and catback for now, maybe later LS6 intake and headers. Nothing major, I don't want to pop the 10 bolt or the trans.

nice find! I miss my 2.73's sometimes lol. If you're looking to make it quicker, skip the ls6 intake and put a converter in it. I dropped over a full second off my ET after swapping converters. Makes it a lot more fun to drive around on the street, too.

Right now I just want to put a few bolt ons into it and drive it every day lol. Main focus is the Vette right now. My ultimate goal is to get into the 10's with it.

If I get a converter for the Camaro Ill be putting my foot into it all the time. I used to have a Cammed 98 WS6 with a 3600 stall so I'm no stranger to the joys of a stalled auto. The 2.73's are nice for the highway driving I do every day

i picked up my z28 for $2400 with a 6 speed and new tires
needed a good cleaning, paint and a tune up
had 176k miles on it when i bought it.
but motor had been changed just before 60k due to spun rod bearing

Yeah the deals are out there, you just gotta keep looking. This car has new tires, new AC components and new window motors. The only real issues are the trans mount being broke, needs a fuel filter and tune up, and the starter is misaligned. Looks like I got my day off project for monday lol

LOL I didn't want to drive something boring. The vette actually gets around 19 in town if I drive it easy and 28 on the highway. We shall see what the Z28 gets after I get it squared away

Yeah the vette is alright unless I get into it a lot or lots of stop and go traffic. I might come get it tonight; depends what time me and my Girl both respectively get out of work. Otherwise I'm coming to get it monday on my day off and my Brother is gonna help me get it home. I work tomorrow morning @ 0500 so if I get off too late Im gonna wait.

I used to have a cammed/geared/stalled WS6.... 14MPG around town and 20 on the highway lol. That was back when gas was still 1.80 a gallon though.

right there with ya. I've got a 2002 honda civic si for a daily driver, I've put less than 50 miles on it in the past 6 months. I fucking hate driving 4 cylinders, and hate driving stick even more lol. So if you know anybody that wants to buy a Honda....

Lol damn man thats alot. I probably should have got a car for a dd, but I guess saving gas wasnt at the top of the list when I bought the Trailblazer. And no car could tow my car, so I guess that was higher on the list than saving gas. Plus i wanted a 4x4

I love riding bikes, used to have a rm250 .030 over, that I rode all the time on trails and in construction zones around me, but I feel like there are too many bad drivers on the street to feel comfortable. But, god are streetbikes fun

Yeah, I wanted a truck or an SUV but this was too good of a deal to pass up. I showed up with cash not expecting her to take it but she did. I usually buy one or 2 cars a year and either part them out or fix them and sell them. I needed something now though so I can start working on my Z06 so it worked out perfect.

I have been riding for 34 yrs now and love it but yes i was rear ended 4 yrs ago @ a red light and shattered both knee caps but i am back on one again and really missed it !

Yeah, I was riding my buddys gsxr600 and someone backed out of a driveway right in front of me. Got on the brakes hard, gave me a scare, but I was able to stop with plenty of room.

Glad you're okay, thats serious stuff.. Was it a long recovery? The guy at the goodyear I get alignments and tires mounted/balanced at was sitting on his harley at a stoplight a month or two ago and got rear ended by a lady with cataracks who claimed she couldnt see him. Scary.

Could not walk for 14 weeks but if you seen me now you could never tell and i am always @ the gym bettering myself still cause about 80% but probally wont ever be 100% again but as soon as i could fit on a sport bike i was back on and loving it again. The guy was 80 yrs old and its was 10am and my bike was a Yellow GSXR1000R and he said he did not see me either.

it's running great. Just threw a couple little things on it, trying to hit 11.49's with a stock long block. Shouldn't be too hard. Then it's getting a big cam for a couple months, then i'm doing my turbo setup lol. I just wanna see how deep i can get it into the 10's cam only before I start the turbo build. Vette is running well I presume?

Yeah, it's running pretty good. Little things keep coming up, alternator, the headliner needs replaced, I got time to fix all the little issues though now.

Call around to your local trim shops they can generally recover a seat for fairly cheap, even a leather one. Id add a lid, pulley, headers and a cat back to the car and let it go at that.

She was desperate seeming when I talked to her so I brought 2200 cash. Offered 2000 and she said no, so I showed her all I had on me
