Default some modification questions....

ok so i hope this is the right spot to post this... i have a 2001 ws6 trans am, 6 speed car. my car is 100% stock with the exception of a slp lid and a borla cat back. 80xxx miles. I want my car to be fast.. lol how do i get there? By fast i mean a solid 11 second car. and thats mid 11 not high 11. I want to be able to drive the car on the street still though, but i would want to be able to have good numbers at the track when i make my monthly trip. I dont want to use nitrous, and i want my car to have a sweet sounding idle with a good choppy idle. also i dont want to have to modify my short block. but everything else can go! im thinking heads/cam/intake? then throw some headers and catless y? maybe with some different injectors, tb, and mass air? any help is appreciated! i am hoping for 425+hp to the wheels. i just dont know whats the best parts to get... thanks!!

cam only cars have run 10s.you will need some good suspension parts and some DR.a ls6 intake will work for your needs ,get a ported TB.you mite need bigger injectors ,32#.look at Texas Speed or vengeance racing for head/cam combos.consider some TSP 5.3 heads with a torquer v3 cam ,this mite meet your goals.ls1howto.com can help with the install if you do it yourself.you should get new lifters, timing chain ,and a oil pump.you can get a head/cam install kit .read more learn more before your whip out the credit card.

thanks! yes i know i need to get subframe connectors, replace my ten bolt, and maybe some adjustable shocks, i have looked on tsp website, whats the difference between the v3 cam and the tsunami cam? it would be awesome to get into the 10s without nitrous, currently at my local track the fastest ls1 cars are running 100+ of nitrous and running 10.70

best bet is a really great set of heads, a rather medium to big cam, ls6 intake or better and full bolt-ons. plus a good dyno tune will get you there no prob. then youll want to look into a rear end to cause itll really be your weak point

Yup 2001 already has the ls6 intake....first thing I'd do is rear and suspension so you can dead hook and launch, then look at a good heads/ cam package. You can easily get well under the times you are looking for and still be streetable if you build the whole car as a package.

IMO first differential, something stronger than that POS stock unit. Then a good clutch with a light flywheel. Then headers and with true X duals (preferable)
