Street Racing & Kill Stories - LS1 vs Coyote

Just raced a 2013 5.0, 6 spd last night.
I pulled him by a car, I was wondering if this race sound just about right considering the fact that he's pulling about 40-50 horses more than I am.
The race was a 35 roll.

Mods?

Lid, lts, 3in exhaust cat back.

Doesn't really sound right to me, but I don't know much about the new 5.0s.

I'm guessing you beat the driver, but good kill either way.

Sounds like the driver mod was on your side

He honked it, an had the hop. But as soon as I put it in 2nd I started barely pulling.
I just wasn't too sure about the win, didn't know if the driver himself didn't drive correctly or idk..

^ lol at above. But yes sounds like the driver mod. Although I will point out the 5.0 does kinda suck from a roll. My ls1 felt stronger from rolls than my 5.0 does. From a dig might have been different, and sounds like he was stock. Idk win is a win tho congrats.

gear ratios have that effect on your mind. HP is HP... the more you have, the stronger it is on the roll.

Referring to the ones that always come in here and say "Nofuckingway5.0isracecar" when a perfectly legit (with a subpar driver in the 5.0) situation like the one above is posted.

Sounds right to me givin the mods. It's not like he freight trained to 5.0. A header f-body should outrun one from a roll imo.

Sounds right to me, I think a Bolt-On M6 LS1 should have no problem pulling a car on a new 5.0 even with a good driver.

And trust me I know, I've been driving my friends '13 5.0 for him the last few days because he doesn't have a license. The power is great, and it's fun to drive don't get me wrong. A lot of potential which everyone already knows. But I feel my Bolt-On car is still a bit stronger.

We'll see when he can drive again and we race.

Well like stated above, I didn't pull him like a train. The pull was slowly.

good kill, it went down exactly like it should have if he was stock. If you were stock, he would have put a couple cars on you. Of course, that's why we mod right?

The 5.0 must have someone that can drive it correctly to be worth a damn. A friend of mine has one with only cat back exhaust. Went to the track the other night and ran a best time of 13.9. Everyone ive seen run has had about the same results. I expected it to run low 13s easily even with a novice driver. Ive yet to see a stock one in the 12s in person.

When my LT4 Corvette was still stock (less than actually), I ran 2012 5.0 from a 50 mph roll. I had about 3 cars on him through 4th gear. Didn't walk off from him, but pulled away steadily. I expected more from a car that had 80+ HP on me.

I'm lighter, but I didn't think enough to cause that result.
