Default W.O.T knock!

Yesterday I was having my 06 SS tuned. everything was doing well, trans, DOD delete, top speed gov delete (yes it was set at 140 from the factory). As I said everything was going well until driving it and tuning to find that there was a knock 1-8 cyls at W.O.T at high speeds. Around town, part throttle, half throttle, etc was no knock just at W.O.T. The knock went as high as 7 degrees then drop off to 4 degrees or less. I run 93 octane. the car has 79,000 on it and I still have the original spark plugs in it. (I had the car for a year, brought it used and didnt get around to the plugs yet.) The car drives great and very strong but cant do any more to it tuning wise until I figure out the knock issue. Help would be appreciated.

The first thing I would try is some new plugs and wires since they are original.

I figured as much it was the plugs. Should I stay stock or get something different?

Pull some timing out of it and keep tuning? It is pretty hot if you're anywhere in the southern US right now.

How much timing are you trying to run? Are you running ethanol or "real" gas? Could be running lean also.

Since I am in the northeast I am running 93 octane. (lucky me) It was kinda hot that day. I didnt get to do any timing because of the wot knock. I did everything else though.

Why not? Was it an audible knock, or you just saw a few degrees on the scanner? These cars are pretty aggressive stock. If just a few degrees on the scanner, I'd say you should've just pulled a little timing where it was retarding it and go from there.

Yes, the stock tune is very aggressive. At least for the gas that is out now.

Yeah it was only a few degrees of knock. Between 4 to 7 degrees on the computer. No audible knock at all.

Also what wires are you guys using for our cars. MSD and Granatelli doesn't show that they have kits for our cars.
