Can anyone tell me what these bolt holes are for just above the crank? This is a newer 5.3L block that I believe used AFM?


My LS1 does not have any holes and I can't put my engine together without know if they should be plugged or left alone.

Timing chain dampener. My LS1 has one. Some do...Some dont, but common on LS2

Thank you guys so much! Got the heads on and everything put together. That question/issue had me hung up for a while. I should have just posted first instead of searching.
