Default turbos vs supercharger

If you were going to build a 67 camaro 95% street car with forged ls motor, forced induction, would you do a small twin turbo setup or a whipple type setup?I know a turbo setup works best with an automatic trans from experience but I kind of lean to a t56 for the fun factor.Never had a roots type blower which would work good with a stick. Both have there advantages, turbos can make more power in most cases and roots type can make more instant power.Which do you think would make for the best overall packedge in a fast fun street car?

you can get a turbo system looking pretty sweet in a engine bay if spent enough time and money but the car will be down longer building the hot side, for simplicity a blower will be alot faster and cleaner if you want it quick

Procharger easier less oil changes less heat on oil less bearing issues than turbo or whipple

Roots for instant tq and manual would be a lot of fun on the street.

I think everything is cooler about turbos, but superchargers work great.

Turbo will be a blast with a t56 in that type of car as long as your not looking to make 1000 wheel. Driveability will be so tame you wont realize they are even on there. Also for the street you can have a 10psi tune making xxxhp and with the touch of a button double it instantly and make xxxhp. With a properly geared and speced turbos the power will come on FAST, the days of turbo lag are just about over if you have the right setup. Just my .02 but I am partial.

This is what I am leaning to,I'd be happy with 999hpSeriously though, any where from 6-800 rw would be fantastic,I'm sure I'd never get a fraction of that to the ground but it sure would be fun though.I love sleeper type cars and would really like the fact that you could drive it around just like a stocker and still have big power on tap at a moments notice.I am thinking a set of 60-1s or 62's mounted up and foward.Any thoughts on setup specs or turbo size?

Thanks ,I will check your thread out.I am researching and looking and just trying to figure out how I want to do this.I have had this car for 30+ years so I want to do it so it will put a smile on my face every time I get in it.It now has a big block and a four speed with mabye 400 rwhp, its fun but I think there are better options nowdays.I can have more power and drivibility, mpg's etc. and lose 300 or more lbs. off the frontend.Got to be a good thing. I think a whipple would be great but I just think I would like the twin turbo best.

Here is my budget Chevelle. I'll have less than $4000 in the project and should make 500 RWHP on 93 pump gas. I built it all myself so the welds are not great but there are no others around this area so at the show everyone see under the hood yell "HOLY ****!"

it really depends how you drive, what you use the car for, what sort of throttle response you want, and also the noises you want to make.

Turbos can make as much power as you would ever need, and do it silently. At the expensive of throttle response.

If aiming for big numbers, I'd avoid a Valley style blower. They will make too much low down torque which will hurt traction, drivetrain and reliability.
If only aiming for say 600rwhp, then a valley style would be a very good option though.

650+ IMO the best street package is a centrifugal. Power delivery is very linear and smooth, and also instant when you want it. They will make more noise than a turbo setup though, but that does seem to vary.
