Cadillac CTS-V - Check steering/stability system, service vehicle soon. Random heavy steering issues.

Over the past 2 weeks when I first start my car I randomly get the "service vehicle soon", "service steering system" and "service stability system" along with the T/C light, abs light and parking brake light on the cluster staying on. I originally just turned the car off and back on and everything would stay off. The next time it happened, it took multiple restarts to finally clear it and now it randomly comes on while driving. When all the warning lights are on the brake lights stay illuminated and the steering is heavy or hard to turn. However as soon as I get it to start without the warnings it is easy to steer again. Is there an electric assist somewhere or can the computer adjust the steering pump?? The T/C and stability control does not engage when there is wheel spin, etc. I'm going to check the grounds and probably go ahead and replace the SWPS..any other ideas??

Definitetly check your grounds first

There is a valve in the steering rack that the car uses to vary steering effort. I wish I could help further.

I took it to the dealer and hooked it up to the TechII. We were getting weird readings from the EBCM. They reprogrammed the EBCM and all is well :hail:;) They suspected the guy who did my exhaust welded on the car without disconnecting the battery. I haven't had any problems since so I'll take it.
