Chevrolet Camaro 1967-2002 - '04-06 GTO in a '67 Camaro?

Has anyone here tried swapping a 2004-2006 complete drive train into a 1st gen F-body? I'm just gathering info here, but I'd be curious to find a build thread or at least some more info on this. I did a little searching but couldn't find what I was looking for.

I'd be looking at an LS1 or LS2 with a 6 speed. How does the shifter line up with the existing tunnel hole? Motor mounts, accessories, oil pan etc. Any help is appreciated.

From what I can find, it looks like most of the accessories won't line up, so maybe not worthwhile. Anything else?

You need to goto http://www.pro-touring.com and you will find everything you need.

-The GTO A/C will require a frame notch the frame or get different brackets

-You will have to swap the oil pan

-The tunnel will need cutting and change the GTO shifter to a Camaro shifter and it will sit in a good location

-Get some motor mount relocation plates

I ran 12.50 1.9 60 with a bone stock 06 GTO engine.

Go look in the Conversions and Hybrids section on this forum. You'll find about 10,000 LS 1st Gens.
