Cadillac CTS-V - XM iPod interface issue. Help?!

Going on a road trip after work today, and of course my XM channels disappeared. Which is what I use for iPod interface. I have been searching all morning and it appears this happens quite often. (When I hit "band" it scans from FM1, FM2, AM and never brings up my XM channels). The best thing that's came up is disconnect my XM reciever (Which I'd rather not rip out my seats and so forth before I leave) disconnect my batteries, or my reciever is bad. No real "fixes" yet. Anyone came across this and "fixed" it?
Some said theirs came back in 20min-2 days time randomly? Mines been this way for a day now.

The fix is to disconnect the negative lead of your battery for about a minute. The XM/Sirius unit crashed because you disconnected your iPod/iPhone while it was on. It's a rare thing--less than a 1 in 10000 chance of this happening, so while its annoying, it'll only occur 2-3 times over the life of your car.
After you do this, you'll have to relearn your window positions if you want the express up/down feature to work. Roll the windows up all the way and hold the up button for a few seconds to do it.

It worked! But now my engine light is on. Do you know why it would do that?

No idea. Might not be related. First step in almost any modification to your car is to disconnect power.
Do you have a OBD2 scanner? If not, go borrow one at AutoZone or Advance Auto Parts (it's free).

I'll have to do that. I threw a thread out as well and got the same advice. No idea why it would do that. Maybe my mods are making it throw codes that got reset to stock from disconnecting the ground? It came on like right after I did that, just before I left for my trip. I've driven about 3 hours with not an issue to speak of other than realizing its probably time for new brakes.

Just in case you were curious, my light ended up just going off. Maybe the computer ended up compensating? I don't know.

Did you see "Service Theft System" pop up on the main display when you fired your car up?

I didn't notice if it did, but the screen was clear when I looked to see if I had my XM channels again.
You think that's all it may have been?
Thanks for all the advice by the way! It's much appreciated by a clueless guy like myself.
I suppose all is fine, if it comes back I'll definitely borrow my dads scanner

That was probably it. You should be good to go. Do your windows work like normal?

Good deal.
Before I forget, have you ever considered a Mountek mount (http://www.mountek.com/Mountek-nGroove-Slot-Mount-Smartphone/dp/B004G1L52Q?class=quickView&field_availability=-1&field_browse=5306178011&field_product_site_launch_date_utc=-1y&id=Mountek+nGroove+Slot+Mount+Smartphone&ie=UTF8&refinementHistory=brandtextbin%2Csubjectbin%2Ccolo r_map%2Cprice%2Csize_name&searchNodeID=5306178011&searchPage=1&searchRank=salesrank&searchSize=12)? I like mine (an older MT5000), although I had to remove the lower foot because the PA15-VETTE's cable wouldn't reach through. If you use a GPS application on your phone, or something along the lines of Trapster, this is pretty much a no-brainer for less than $20.
