Gears & Axles - 8.5 10 bolt

how do i get the C lookin deal out thats holding the spyder gears up in a 10 bolt rearend. i am trying to get to the c clips to take out my axles but i am having a hard time getting that deal out any help would be gladly appreciated

flip it around and there should be one little bolt in the middle after you take that out push your axle in and the c clips holding them in will fall out

well that was for my stock 10 bolt on the 99 camaro idk about the 8.5 10 bolt

it has two springs in it "the C deal" at the top and the bottom is that what u are refering to

oh ok well it must be diffrent. i didnt have any springs on the clip that held the axles from moving in. just more of a u clip i guess with one bolt on the closed side of the u took that out pushed the axles in and the c clips holding the axles fell out easy. the bigger 10 bolt must be diffrent sorry for the no help.

If you look at the posi unit, do you have a thick bolt that's between the axle ends? If so, that bolt needs to be removed. There's a little bolt at one end of the thick bolt, which I think takes a 5/16 wrench to turn. Take the little bolt out, slide the big bolt out, push the axles inward, and the c-clips should fall out.
