Here is my build thread:

Rolled the car off the dyno today, here is the sheet:

http://sphotos-b.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-prn1/561988_10151019233426365_606051268_n.jpg

The car made 470/419!!!! With a FAST I would pick up even more power too!

TSP 5.3 heads FTW!

That's unusually high for 5.3 heads. What kind of dyno is this?

Id hit the drag strip to really compare it, with a stockish weight car you should trap 120+mph

Those are high numbers. Your cam isn't even extremely big either.

On this exact dyno my car made 339/354 with full bolt ons, probably 3-4 months ago. I will post that dyno sheet up eventually. My buddies T-Rex setup made 422/377, so I am assuming this dyno is pretty much spot on. With the lightweight flywheel, UD pulley, ported everything, those numbers are reasonable IMO. Either way the car pulls VERY hard, I am happy with it.

Could be you have a freak as your about 30-50hp higher than a setup like that usually does but your quarter mile trap speed will tell for sure. About 120mph with 1000-2000 density altitude should be about where your at if it has that much power.

I have a few things most people don't do on a 'budget build' that uses these heads. i.e. lightweight flywheel, UD pulley, ported MAF/TB, etc.

Here is the video:

She's a smoker! Also, I will take it to the track eventually. The car is still on the stock 10 bolt, also another reason the numbers are high.

Great numbers man!!

Anytime somebody with budget parts makes power as much as people who spend an arm and a leg, there are always doubters.

Keep us posted of 1/4 mile time that will trap

You know what else helps that a lot of people don't know is the lighht oem wheels definitely helps with cutdown of rotational mass along with that lightweight flywheel and ten bolt.

Congrats on the numbers! Very solid setup for sure.

My Trex/LS6 intake car did 420/370 on that dyno.

Good numbers goto the track and see what it traps.

I plan on it later on in the season. I don't want to go too soon because if I blow the rear out the car will be parked for the rest of the season. Also, do I know who you are? If you are a local I am surprised I have not seen you around? Are you on wnyfbody?

lol

I'm banned from WNY F-body its LZ(FormulaLS1) white trex camaro is sold new owner went low 11s on street tires(3.73s/10bolt) at 120 something.

I will have another F-body in spring.

Just for good measure, as well as somewhat verifying how well that dyno reads, here is my before graph:

That was 3-4 months ago when I was full bolt ons. Car made 339/354 so it clearly doesn't read high, haha.

have those same heads and did 434rwhp in an A4(5c 4400stall)..i since gotten rid of my hooker y pipe and got a 4inch mufflex y pipe with the flowmaster merge on it so i think it would add a few more ponies..nothing wrong with budget heads...sure aftermarket heads have their benefits but for me these heads suite me just fine..
congrats and enjoy the new mods..im just debating now if an EWP worth it..never ends lol

That is pretty impressive. Your video says final pull, and at the end it shows 377rwtq. where did u come up with the 419? Most people pull 440rwhp with that setup, idk what u did, but it worked!

A lot can change in 3-4 months with a dyno. My car magically lost 20+rwhp in 3-4 months on the same dyno in OKC. But it also ran .2 and 1.5 mph faster.

Either way it is a stout combo and looks to be making more than the typical 440 range for the setup, but 470 is a little optimistic IMO. I would be thrilled as shit with those results for the combo you put together. Post up some track times when you go, I bet it runs well.

It is making 377 torque at 7000 RPMs. It makes 419 at around 5000 (if I recall correctly) - that is what those numbers in the middle of the graph are for.

I am going to need a lot more practice to dial the car in, but currently I am trapping a hair under 95MPH in the 1/8th mile. This is with my shift light set at 6400RPM. I am probably going to raise it up a hair eventually.

About 120mph with 1000-2000 density altitude should be about where your at if it has that much power.i'd be expecting a lot more than that. a local made 406 with a cammed ls1 and trapped 118 in a full weight car with a da hovering around 1k'.

"This is with my shift light set at 6400RPM. I am probably going to raise it up a hair eventually."

So you are probably shifting around 6500 rpm. Going by your graph I would up that somewhere between 1K and 2k rpm.

Wow..very impressive for sure! I just got my SS about a week ago, and it has a very similar build to yours. The guy said it made 460 on the dyno of a place that is now out of business, so i'm gonna throw it to my former tuner and have him dyno just to confirm, power, a/f, etc...Hope it's similar to yours:)

Proof that you don't need to blow your budget and still make great power, right!?

The car is an absolute rocket so far. I plan on installing a FAST intake next spring too. That would be insane if I could break 500whp, but I highly doubt it would make much more than 490, if that, with a FAST.

Nice man. Curious to see how it runs once you get it dialed it. My 02 Z28 was 3500 lbs without me in it and made 408/380 SAE on a Dynojet. In a similar to higher DA, it would trap about 92 in the 1/8 and in a negative DA it would do 94, so I would have guessed yours would be in the 440ish range on the same dyno based on your current numbers. I probably would have guessed similar or slightly lower just based on the setup before seeing any numbers.

I was 0.09 MPH away from trapping 98 today and I still have room to grow, so...yeah.
