Chassis mount torque arm with DS loop is the only way to go. Not only will it keep the underside from receiving massive damage if the DS breaks, but will also take the torque and strain off the trans tail shaft. Win win.

Put a 6speed tq arm in it. It don't have those holes and should be stronger.

Hell... I broke the torque arm on my car back in 1998 when it was completely stock. It snapped right where it bolts to the rear differential.

Never broke a stock torque arm but I did snap the crap out of my Dad's Spohn Torque Arm in his Comp TA. Broke that sucker in about 3 places. Think that was back in '01 in Memphis for the F-Body Event. Seems like that was the last time I drove that car....

I'm surprised with all the money you have into your car that you left the stock torque arm. Tsk tsk!

lol, RamAir, I am upgrading it anyways which is why I am not upset. The only reason it wasnt yet was because I ran out of funds until winter lol. I am finishing up the 8.8 Rear End and then I am buying $1700 worth of suspension. I was coming soon, just didnt think about the stock torque arm going out on the street lmao.

Unfortunately I lost a chunk of my tail shaft when the torque arm unloaded on it! BMR had just come out with the relocation mount and it was back on the road again. It happened when I was visiting my GF at WCU and I ended up putting steel wire around it to keep it from slapping around on the ride home lol.

lol nice! Nothin a little bailin wire cant fix! haha

Here is an update. Got the old arm out today and assessed the damage.

It bent during a half throttle launch from a dig and apparently it took out something in the rear end as well because it feels like it skips a tooth once in a while....SO, guess what I did for the rest of the day! You got it, started on mt 8.8 build haha! Thread for that coming next!

Here is a pic of the arm outside the car.
