What is it Worth? - 1999 Trans Am 6 Speed 87k Miles

Found this recently while looking at cars. It has 87k miles, clean car fax, 6 speed, leather t tops yada yada. The person is only asking 6k???
The kbb is 10.4k which seems high but this almost seems too good to be true?
The badges have been painted black and I believe it has exhaust but other than that everything checks out though I havent seen it in person (its 6 hours from me).
Should I jump on it? Could I buy it and possibly resell it? Even if not is it a great deal? Any and all input appreciated, thanks.
Also FYI if I buy it and keep it Im not looking to make it fast, its ok that it doesnt have the LS6 intake, though I don't know what else makes it different from 2000-2002 model years.

I believe you are mistaken on KBB values. You must have punched in a wrong number on something or mistakenly looked at 'retail' prices. I show an approximate $8,000 value for a 'private party' '99 T/A with 87,000 miles. We live in the same state so I doubt the pricing is that far off.
You rarely get a steal on anything like 'higher mileage used cars' anyway. You get what you pay for. In this case you would be getting a car with issues 99 out of 100 times. I doubt the 6 hour drive is worth it for that extremely slim hope that the car is a 'steal'. Even if the car was really nice it isn't exactly a 'steal' at $6,000 anyway. A nice find maybe.

It's at a dealership which is why I rated the kbb value and has a 3 month warranty. I do agree with you though, I just figured maybe there was some chance that they got this car extremely cheap on a trade or auction from someone dumb? Possible but highly unlikely.

OK, I see.
That really scares me now knowing it is at a dealership. 'Trade-in' is about $6,000 and they are selling it at 'trade-in' pricing? A dealership?
Time for the old red flag warning.

I agree though when I had my old 02 T A and this was years ago, they wouldn't give anywhere close to the kbb. Could be something that was repo d and or at an auction for repos and bought cheap.

Anytime i see a "steal" i pull up the history report. Autocheck is unlimited and gives me enough information to rule some cars out. If it seems to good to be true, it probably is.

AutoCheck is on their website and is clean.
