Which wire do I tap into to hook up a toggle switch to my cooling fans, so I can run the fans when ever I want. To my understanding the second fan cuts on when the engine is at 215 degrees? Do I hook it up a breaker or a fuse and just run it striaght to the battery? and too the power wire of the fan???

I think installuniversity.com has a write up of installing the SLP override fan switch...

What year, make, model?

Id look at a "tune" before hard wiring the fans. Is the car overheating??

Your gonna burn up the switch if you let all that amperage constantly flow through it. I'd leave it alone personally. 215 really isnt that hot, especially looking at the factory temperature gauage. Older cars with older fan switches (looked like coolant temp sensors) didnt trigger fans to come on till around 235*F (or of course A/C commanded on).

If you just want a switch for your fans, I would highly recommend gettIng the slp fan switch. You can install that in about 10-15 minutes and be thru and never have to worry about it becuase it's specifically made for our cars.
