I know, right... Funny shit for sure.

Exactly... :)

Hahaha. Thanks Mike. I'm sending this to a friend.

I read it and didn't really click at first, maybe I've been on too many gun related websites lately lol.... Then I was like, WTF,,, and started laughing while jamming the brakes and pulling over. When I was leaving, I saw a couple other people stopping to take pics also. Funny shit. :)

Nice! Been looking at the CMMG AR uppers. Seem to be a good product and reasonably priced.

I pieced together my entire AR and put it together. Best way to go rather than buying one already put together. You'll spend less $$$ and have it customized to your liking. Also, I'd go with Bravo Company (BCM) I've owned CMMG and also Bushmaster. BCM is the way to go as far as the upper & bolt carrier go.

No need for all these fancy automatics. I'm goin with the classic zombie slayer, double barrel side by side or over under 12 gauge

If a zombie apocalypse ever came true I don't think it would go far there are plenty of people with guns and ammo that would live nothing more than to blow away zombies all day. It would never go as far as it does in movies and tv shows

I've contemplated building one from scratch but I will more than likely buy a complete upper. What didnt you like about the CMMG?

Good luck with that! Awesome weapon though.

Have fun reloading that side by side & Over under and toting around large heavy rounds. That's for close range and a pump action or semi that can hold 8+1 rounds is the better choice. Some sort of rifle w/ several high-cap mags is a must. My choice is my NHM-91 AK-47. My .45 on will be on the side and the AR over the shoulder.

Feeding issues with their complete upper and on another totally different rifle they offer.

What barrel length do you want? 20"/18"/16''/14.5"/11.5/10.5"? All the above? :)

Then you gotta figure out if you want a carbine or a mid length upper. I went w/ a light weight mid length Cold Hammer Forged Barreled Upper.

Just from personal experience and all the different members I shoot with, I would def go the BCM route. You won't be sorry brotha!

Palmetto State Armory is a good place to check out for a lower, butt stock, grip and handguards. They have sells with the lowers completely assembled or if you wanna do it yourself, you can save anywhere from $50-80 if you put it together yourself.

I'm torn between a 14.5" and 16" barrel, but I'm leaning toward a 14.5".

Here's a little bit of what I'm after for the rest:

-Chrome lined barrel
-5.56 NATO
-1/7 twist
-M4 feed ramps
-Middy upper
-A3 upper receiver

I'm still researching the pros/cons of all the other items etc.. The idea of building my own AR is very intriguing.

I like the Daniel Defense stuff as well but haven't talked to anyone with personal experience.

Daniel Defense is good. My brother has one. He's got a whole collection of AR's. His personal favorites are his BCM's.

Here's the one I put together.

Cold Hammer Forged Barrels
M4 Feed Ramp Barrel Extension
M4 Feed Ramp Flat Top Receiver
T-Marked Upper Receivers
USGI 1/7 Twist Rates
USGI 5.56 NATO Chambers
Mil-Spec 11595E - Certified Barrel Steel (CMV)
Chrome Lined Bore and Chamber
Manganese Phosphate Barrel Finish
Mil-Spec F-Marked Forged Front Sights
USGI Government Profile Barrels
HPT (High Pressure Test) Barrels
MPI (Magnetic Particle Inspected) Barrels

I went w/ a 14.5" You'll be happy with the 14.5" One of the best overall length's IMO.
http://www.bravocompanyusa.com/BCM-BFH-14-5-Mid-Length-LW-Upper-Receiver-Group-p/bcm-urg-mid-14lw-bfh.htm

I've also got a few Colt A4 carry handles laying around I can throw your way if you get one. It's good to have one on hand in case you optics go out. I enjoy iron sights too.

I have cmmg parts coming for one of the lowers now.

The complete is modded Stag 2. 5.56 16in A4. Shots like a dream!

The SAA Reaper is still in the "not sure what i want" stage. Not sure if i want a 300blackout or sone thing that will strike dead at 600 plus meters

I only said the shotguns cuz that's the gun in all zombie games to have lol. I know in real life something lighter that holds more rounds would be a better option. However, fully auto would definatly NOT be the gun to have in most cases during a zombie fest. U only need one round to kill a zombie, one to the head and ammo conservation is key to surviving in these situations. Semi-auto rifle or LMG is what you really want

my Daniel Defense is NASTY man.......it's the 14.5 1/7 twist CMV barrel with a Sabre Defense lower.......2 stage match trigger, Nikon Monarch 4-16x42 sitting in an American Defense Recon-S mount......best 3 shot group so far is .27 @100yds with Black Hills 55gr TSX......smoked two does with it last year with 70gr TSX from SSA......one was 142yds, the other about 55......both shots were full pass through with massive blood trails.....it also loves cheaper PPU Prvi Partisan 75gr Match grades.....keeps them about .75 @100

the sickest AR i've ever shot was my little bro's Wilson Combat UT-15 Tactical........i'll probably never be able to do it again, but one day i shot a .126 3-shot group @100yds......that's 1/8th inch!!

Yeah buddy. I love my BCM Gunfighter Charging Handle. What size did you go with? I'm guessing Large to clear your optics. My buddy put one on his Bushmaster and it came in handy to help clear jams from it. Stand it upright and give the charging handle a swift heel kick and out comes the case :) Haven't had to do that on mine yet and hopefully I won't! 3k through it so far w/o a hiccup.

You know if you use half decent brass ammo that is not an issue ;)

I shoot nothing but brass out of mine. With all the millions of brass rounds being fired all over the world, there's going to be hiccups along the way ;) Even if it is a rare occurrence.

How do you like the knoxx forend? I decided to keep my speedfeed LE forend on but curious for someone that has theres on.On my 870 if you look closely I modified the buttstock to take a Remington Supercell Pad b/c I loved it so much on factory stock.Got the knoxx to take out a lot of recoil and the Supercell made it even nicer and more comfortable.

I really like the knoxx forend. That shotgun has almost zero recoil with that stock. Shooting 000 buck & slugs is butter.

Look for the house with the lights on post invasion/Apocalypse/Zombies. ;-)

But i will probably have shifted over and barricaded/fortified Target or Wal-Mart with a few well armed friends by the time you find me. Ammo, food, water, board games and batteries. Sounds like a good time to me.

I've got one of their complete lowers sitting in my safe. Awesome product...and for the price you can't go wrong. Personally, I'm not a fan of CMMG like I mentioned in the first few posts. After owning and shooting several different brands of AR's, I'm big on BCM. Solid and top notch quality. As far as the lowers go, Palmetto State, Bushmaster, Rock River and any other name brand are all good. I just usually search around for who has the best pricing. Don't skimp out on the complete upper though.

FYI: Bi-Mart has some great sale prices on 5.56 and .223 brass case ammo. Sale ends on 9/9/12. Get it while the getting is good.
