lol. I was with the girl chillin and got a whataspp saying lets race. I never say no, sadly. So I went out and wasted about $10 worth of alcohol(meth) and $10 of gas :(. We did some rolls and it was worse for him.

Got a run for this weekend vs a built subby STI. A girls car. Has sequential shifter and everything. Her dad was able to get an 11.6 out of it at the track. We are going to dig run.

Not sure if I should go strap the skinnys on the car or just run her with current setup. I mean I'm not even boosting 8psi lately lol. I have my 8rib and pulley next to me but too lazy to take my car into shop :(.

I'll be 12psi by then. I told him he needs tires if he even wants it to be a competition.

Probably the vishnu kit as that is the only one thats released on the market. It's only good for a few more PSI over the stockers, but it moves a crap ton more air to make considerable more power. I don't think you are going to have a problem with him though.

Find out if it's a vishnu kit. It's probably the best well rounded kit available. It's around $6700 but he will need things like an updated clutch and driveshaft and if he doesn't already have a vishnu proceed controller he will need to pick up one of those. I think a meth kit too. Is he doing the work himself?

He has meth. He has vishnu programming and boost controller and stuff. Car has like 30k in it right now. Lots of money. Yes he does all the work himself.

I think we talked about this before. 30k is a shit ton of money for that car. I'm damn near full bolt ons(the ones that add power anyway) and tuned for e85. That total set me back about 2-3k worth of parts. Is he one of those guys that springs for the carbon fiber body parts and crap?

Well like I mention to everyone being down here we have import taxes and shipping costs so prices sky rocket. I know he put limited slip differential, bought vishnu exhaust then bought dynatech, has full exhaust, every single bolt on, meth tuned, boost controller 4 maps, meth, body kit (rims, m3 hood, carbon fiber trunk etc etc etc). I really don't know where he wasted all the money, but it's a 2007, so he has had it for a long time.

Yep, the differential isn't going to help much except from a dig and the cat backs are pricey and yield the littlest gains. Ones worth having are intake, downpipes, intercooler, tune and maybe meth. I ran meth and it worked great but can be tempermental so I switched to e85 mix. I could see the importation tax being a bitch and if anything cosmetics and wheels are the big ticket items for that car along with catbacks. All of which I don't have but would be out the ass expensive. I can't wait to see how the 335i does with a single, but I still see 2SS winning. Did you ever get a stall 2SSARME?

Curious what trans you are going with? Reason I ask is that Diet Coke guy did a 4l80e swap so wasn't sure if you are going similar. i'm so glad I pulled the trigger on my Jakes lvl 5. I'd forget the stroker and just forge the block you got.

I was looking at a completely rebuilt 6L80E, because I like my 6 gears, but we're talking 6 grand w/o core charge.


I was also looking at a TH400 but it requires some extensive work with the body and don't really trust anyone down here to do that swap.

I think a th400 would be a terrible choice especially if you like having a 6speed auto now. Built 4l80e might be a happy middle ground as you get OD and it's stronger for cheaper over a built 6l80e I believe.

Read this 2SS. You might like what you see. The trans Diet Coke used is a 4l80e from jakes thats a lvl2 for about $2550. I believe right now Jakes is taking about 200 off their transmission if you say our are from ls1tech.com

Very cool guy. He invited me out to drinks and dinner to talk cars and get my opinion on what he should do. His was torn between a single turbo or sell the car and get a vette. But he would of lost so much money on selling the 335i it wasn't really worth it.

If anything it's worth your time to shoot DietCoke a PM to pick his brain on why he did the swap. I came across that build thread looking for more details on components(flywheel, converter, fittings). From my understanding as overdrive transmissions go 4l80e>6l80e>4l60e in terms of durability and price to performance goes for cars making a good amount of power.

any update with that guy and his single turbo? ive heard they (single turbo's) got their asses handed to them at an airfield event over the weekend.
