Default crazy 'street racing' accident in dallas this morning

anyone else pass by this accident this morning? it was on the southbound side of I35E, near the Illinois exit. 2 reported dead at this time.

there was a blue chevelle, which was cut in half, and a silver late SN95 mustang. they were reportedly street racing. 7 total cars involved, all lanes of the highway were shutdown.

I was there covering the accident (media). According to a witness we talked to, the car in two pieces was racing another car...possible a vette which according to the witness fled. We're waiting for a police statement...

No one, but are any of us in our right mind. Tragic things usually happen from very poor decisions.

From the first link....

"Update:

The freeway reopened at 9:30 a.m., more than four hours after the deadly accident.

Witnesses told authorities the crash may have been caused by street racing, although initial reports were that the victims in the Cadillac were not involved in the race.

We’re still awaiting IDs for those victims."

They always ad that "possible streetracing" to the end of these kinds of stories. Just heard it on the radio.

The red Cadillac is a full sized late model DeVille like mine, I recognize the bumper cover design. Did they die from the fires or impact? It must have been a hell of a hit if it was the impact, there's about 7 feet of car behind the front seats.
