This was suppose to be the intro crash video in our new “Mischief 8″ movie but I decide to post it up now. Release of the movie is TBA.

Driver Description:
“Well it happened at South Mountain park in Phoenix AZ. One of my buddies and I were out just having fun and driving until I came up on a deceptive corner, misjudged it and it happened. No injuries. The car was a total loss. Misjudgment of the road caused the accident.”

It appears that he did have the wheel turned.. But, if you look closely, it looks like the car was a little bit light/airborne because him having the wheel turned didn't do anything.

He had it turned maybe a few degrees at most. I don't think he was airborne. He may have caught a little air, but not much if at all. You see when he hits the dirt from the side of the asphalt he was on the ground, so he had enough time to at least grab the wheel to the left, but he just held onto it like an idiot.

It's probably better he went straight. Had he slid sideways and hit that boulder he might have rolled.

He tryed to turn.. but the lift on the front end most likely didnt allow him to actually turn left.

He BARELY put any lock into that turn. Probably turned it a little and quickly realized it wasnt making a difference. But yeah the front end defonitly went light over that crest.

Either way, I'm pretty sure he didn't hit the brakes, and he had time to aim for the smaller rock off to the left that was less than half the size of the one he hit dead on. Looked like he totally gave up and just held on after seeing he was fucked, rather than trying to crash gracefully.

It's a popular road for sportbikes in Phoenix as well. The outcome was nothing compared to what it could have been with a bike in the oncoming lane on one of the blind turns.

As far as what he did... Simple. Got scared when he lost road contact and immediately target fixated. I want to see the footage another 30 seconds in when the adrenaline starts ramping down and the tears start ramping up. LOL.

I honestly feel sorry for the dude. I've seen hundreds of totaled F-bodies in a field at an area salvage yard, so bad things can obviously happen to even the best of us...

Lol. I never go hard on a road (canyon roads/carving) I dont know or havent checked out first. Then big rocks and blind turns like this come at you and you get a healthy serving of $hit. I remember hauling ass around a blind corner at one of my fav driving spots and I came over a bunch of loose dirt and rocks on the road right on the apex. All I could do was clench my butt cheeks as the car stopped 3ft from the canyon wall.

Another example of why being good at Gran Turismo does not make you a good driver.
