what makes the most sense to do for a fuel system in this case?
i have a stock plastic fuel tank

All you need to make it work is a low pressure return style fuel pressure regulator. Just make sure your fuel pump can supply your desired power levels.

Yep, low pressure output high pressure bypass works fine with a stock pump.

Allot actually, I would say 700 with the aeromotive bypass.

the p/n for the aero regulator is like 1320-4 or something like that.

You just have to make sure your return line is big enough. I had problems regulating down my pressure because I used the 5/16 evap hard line as the return. It could flow enough volume to bring the pressures down to 6psi. I have an aftermarket intank pump that pushes a TON of fuel so that may have been some of the problem. Either way I had to run 1/2 inch hose all the way to the tank. Just throwing that out there.

Most of use use a bypass high pressure inlet low pressure carb friendly outlet regulator, run the bypass into the stock line.
