Which flywheel?
Using a stock 2000 LS1 for my sandrail build and still need to get a flywheel. I have already purchased the clutch and pressure plate, but not sure which flywheel to go with. Would the billet steel be a better choice under loads like sand vs. the billet aluminum? Or would a stock camaro flywheel do the job?
I'm sure im leaving out some info?

#1 not the case. #2 very possible the case. In the dunes there a lot of opportunities to get the front end in the air off of roller hills and hammering down up steep hills. I imagine the weight of the flywheel determines how fast the motor spools up?

Right...aluminum will spin up much faster, but billet aluminum flywheels are damn expensive...I prefer steel just bc of its longevity...billet steel would be top dog...
Since the aluminum is light it will spin fast, BUT the steel flywheel will provide more inertia to get you going up those steep sand hills...
Road racers usually use aluminum for quick revs and drag racers use steel to provide a good launch off the line...
