I been trying to research what all I have to do to make a Super Victor Intake, 4500 edelbrock TB and a spectre Hat on my 2002 Camaro Z28. But all the post Ive read are confussing .. So could someone please tell me what all I got cut or will I need a total different hood period? Or can I just cust the support outta my stock Z28 hood? Please help me guys.

I'd look at using an intake pan and drawing air from the back edge of the hood before running an elbow...I have a good picture of one I was going to post for you, but I guess Photobucket is down right right now and I can't log in

Why a 4500 TB? Super Victor only has a 4150 flange, and there are 4150TBs that can flow the max the manifold can.

From my understanding on edelbrock.com they are 4500? & I can not run that setup on my Camaro

the Super Victor has a 4150 Flange

if you want an elbow...this is the best way to do it, and I'll sell you my elbow setup if you want it because I am changing to a carb hat
I have a 1" carb spacer, and my setup fits under a 3" Harwood/VFN style Cowl Hood

you will have to cut more out to use the specter Carb Hat than you would with an elbow unless you use a spacer to get it above the cowl lip... then you will be fighting some issues with TB linkage position if you go that high.









Here is an example to show you how far back you will have to cut with the elbow I have...I actually had to cut out more because of my nitrous rails....I ended up cutting pretty much the entire cowl on my car because it looked better

Ya I would like it if you dont have to cut the whippers out? Cause I still wanna drive it on the street. So Ill need a hood if I do this setup? & what are you changing to if you dont mind me asking? & will that be the best option I have for inake system. Or is the FAST 102mm setup getting more power?

With a Super Victor, you will be losing wipers....
vic Jr sits low enough that you can get away with trimming the bracket and you keep your wipers

you will need a cowl hood either way... its just a matter of how much rise you need.

since I'm switching to a mustang chassis, I no longer will have a cowl hanging over the intake...
I'm swapping to a carb hat and I'm adding another 1" spacer and a 1" Methanol Plate
and of course....a cowl hood

and a Super Victor will definitely outperform a FAST intake in the upper RPM, but you also need to get a cam spec'd for a single plane intake and you need to be willling to spin your car up higher... 7400+ rpm is very normal....
also, if you spin your car to 7400+ RPM , you will need to replace the stock lifters with some good ones from Comp/Morel as you will see valve train instability around 6800 as the lifters start to not be able to keep up...
can you do without changing lifters... sure... but I dont recommend that...

as you see.. theres more to it than just changing the intake

Another option is the Edelbrock proflo xt or the holley tunnel ram...i run and love the proflo.....but they are tall too

Ok I have no problem turning the rpms up for everything in the motor is changed and can handle it. What kinda specs need for single plan intake? My cam is a 595 595 238 242 with 112 lsa i believe. So I if i lose my whippers with a super vic and 4150 TB is there any way to use a super vic without losing them? If not can I stepdown to the Vic Jr. and a 4150 TB and keep my wippers but still out preform the 102mm FAST setup?

if you want to use a single plane and not lose the wipers, you need to come straight off the intake with an elbow...usually that means sticking with a stock style single blade Throttle body...but I think somebody makes an elbow that allows you to mount a 4150 on it facing forward like a stock throttle body

Ok, I wasn't sure on the F-bodies...the back of the proflo cleared the hood on my 04 GTO, but the front of it and tb didn't so had to cut my hood and run a small scoop...I thought you guys might be able to clear or just trim the cowl

So who knows what the biggest elbow you can use then? Can you get the edelbrock high flow elbow that is 8in tall to fit and keep your whippers?

Sorry... I gotta say this....
It's spelled wipe-r... Not whip-er


And I'm not sure what the biggest elbow is.... The ones that make a hard immediate 90* turn are the ones that require less cutting and allow you to potentially keep the wipers
