No one seems to have one! With the YT and HS rockers out I'd think someone would do a before/after dyno and post it. Maybe I should just give up and search for the lock ness monster? :usa:

they don't really have a dyno benefit, just have a different bearing design and so on. The main purpose for aftermarket RR is for longevity and reving ability. Plus they don't shoot the bearings all over the place. They are also adjustable i believe. If you step up to 1.8's maybe then but 1.7's are stock size.

Still it would be nice for someone to test a 1.7 VS 1.8?

We did do a test with the Harland Sharp 1.7 vs stock back to back on a relitivly stock Z28 and first pull was 8rwhp gain and the next 2 were 10rwhp gains. I don`t have the dyno sheets to post wish I did. I can see if I can locate them. The 1.8 I have not tested but with the added lift and dur. on the can I could see 15-18 being reasonable.

when are the adjustable due out in full production?

IMO 15RW from a 1.7 to a 1.8 rocker change would be pretty good depending how much they would cost.

Is Harlan going to come out w/a 1.8 in the future?
Still for 350 bucks the 1.7 looks real good too.

Nasty,Does it weight more/less than a stocker?

I'm really interested in knowing if the 1.7 rockers are worth anything or not in my application (cam only, 6600rpm shift points). If they are worth 8-9rw, I want them. If they are worth 0-5rwhp, I don't want them. Thus why I'm searching for a dyno sheet to substantiate any gains! :) Someone HAS to have one! Even if it shows no gain, at least post it for us! :)

Another guy did a dyno test of stock 1.7s vs SLP 1.85s:

But what I want is stock 1.7s vs. 1.7 roller rockers! I haven't seen anything to show the 1.7 rollers are more reliable than the stock rockers (heard of failures with both), so there must be a perception that the 1.7 rrs make more power, or no one would buy them.

The big help is the reliability and they are about 10 ounces lighter than the stock rockers. The full roller and the weight is worth the extra HP.

Sorry to be a little off topic but i have to ask.
Considering the HS's are $350 and the YT's are $500 and both are non-adjustable, what else is there to consider?

Wow that is a good deal Nasty..

10 oz. for the whole set?
No way there 10oz per rocker?
I think I might have to buy a set of those 1.7's....

Thanks...

JS I don't think a rocker weighs close to 10oz...:) A 5/8 oz per rocker saving seems substantial, what do the stock rockers weigh each? What I really want to know is does it translate in to power!

I noticed a few guys started getting valve float with these new rockers, where as with the stock rockers they had no valve float. If these are substantially lighter, how is that possible?

I agree if there lighter they cant be causing float?

If an aftermarket rocker is "lighter" than stock that really not the full story. The real question is is the aftermarket rocker lighter over the valve than the stock rocker. It's not just overall weight it's were is the weight at.

Yea I guess your right, its where the weight is lost on the valvetrain
It could be heavier at a crucal point..

I thoght the YTs were heavier at the tip? I havent seen the HS ones yet, waiting for adjustables to come out that aren't raping you on the price :)

Terry Burger

Chris forget the adjustables just use shims, its easy! You could even use shims to dial in a solid roller if you wanted. :)

Still waiting for a before and after dyno if the 1.7 roller rockers.

I did because I tried to get away with using the stock springs on the 1.8 HS rockers. After I get them replaced I plan to redyno (April 24th?) to see what I gained. I WILL post the results....

they're 10 grams lighter each. they are heavier out over the tip. i'm setting up to try and do back to back dyno's if i install them.

just bought a set.....
and yes...I weighed them here at work...and for 2 of them together(meaning one set- inatke and exhaust side by side with the middle shaft) I got 10 oz!!!
and its possible because its aluminum....
I dont know about the stock ones....

I gained 15rwhp from the 1.8 HS rockers & LS6 springs, & can rev to 6300 now instead of 5900. And its' quieter too!
