We would like to announce that SSCR2 has partnered with a great local childrens charity named Give Kids The World. The rally will be benefiting and fundraising for this great cause. You can read all about their mission and what they do at www.gktw.org. Let's show these children how Camaro owners roll.

Event T-shirts will be available to purchase on site. A minimum of 10% of the gross sales
will be donated directly to GKTW along with other funds.

FRIDAY AFTERNOON March 1st @ 4:30pm WILL BE MAKING A POLICE ESCORTED CRUISE FROM THE RESORT THROUGH THE CHILDREN'S VILLAGE.
This will be about 32 miles round trip.
This is limited to 75 cars so request to be on cruise list ASAP as it will fill up.

We will also be hosting a Friday evening welcome party
Pizza, drinks (non alcoholic) and cake will be provided




The entire event except the "rally portion" we be held ONSITE

The registration fee this year is $35 PER CAR not per person and will get you much more than last year. Vehicle registration may be made via Paypal with a Credit card for those without a Paypal account via the official rally website. www.SunshineStateCamaroRally.com. Good question. When the event was created last year one of the items involved was a very large cruise from the show site over to Olde Town.

The event was given the name Rally due to a couple things. One the large cruise and the other for the literal definition of To call together for a common purpose.

To answer your question. The rally is similar to other large events such as the Fbody gathering and somewhat to C5FEST. The event begins on Friday, lasts all of Saturday and ends Sunday morning. Many event details are still being hammered out and does include a 32 mile police escorted cruise on Friday.

Last time out consisted of things like 125 Camaros all gathered together in one spot. A cruise to Olde Town, A car show with things such as loudest exhaust contest, best audio contest. Late night resort parties with pizza and drinks. Many raffle prizes and awards. Live DJ for entire event. Quite a few vendors and performance shops on site.

We anticipate this one to be quite a bit larger than the last. Quite a few rooms have been booked already since late last night when we announced it and the event is 6 1/2 months out.

I just got some news today that will certainly help our cause for the kids.

Mike Judge aka Mr. Super60 will be sending down some very special items from himself and the Oshawa build team that we hope will really help out the charity.

Or maybe arrangements can be made with the local PD to let us park on the roadway. We were there for a 5K race and they blocked off two of the three lanes on S. Bass Blvd for the race and had only one way traffic in the third lane.

Yes we have one of our organizers working with The events planner at the charity regarding the cruise / parking. The idea actually came from their side. We do know the cruise will be Friday so it won't be as many cars as we have Saturday and of course experience tells us not everyone will do the cruise either. The person handling this portion right now has arranged many cruises before so we know we are in good hands.

The events planner with the charity has been very excited since the start and we are as well.

The cruise to the children's village had to be tweaked a bit today due to security and ease of traffic in the village. Friday afternoon at (roughly 5pm) there will be a cruise from the resort over to the village. A slow drive through the village where the families and children can come out to the streets to watch our cruise and then cruise back to the resort. This cruise through will be limited t
o 75 cars + organizers / sponsors. We wish it wasn't but sadly they need to limit it a bit. The village is closed to the public and nothing like this has EVER been done before in their history. It is an honor that the very first car cruise ever inside the village is the CAMARO/Firebird (THIS WILL BE POLICE ESCORTED)

Since it will be limited to the first 75 cars who register for the cruise portion. We will limit it for now to people who have already registered for the rally. If you would like to do the cruise please shoot over a PM to me.


Representatives from the Charity will be on site at the rally on Saturday saying hello and thank you to all the participants. They will have information available about the great cause and vehicle magnets for sale on site that also support the charity.


The rally is now only 100 days away.
