Default Is this supposed to be fried? Installed Sylvania Silver Stars

I was replacing my running lights with Sylvania Silver Stars, which btw are AWESOME, and I notice the bulb connector was black. Should I be worried? I guess if I see or smell smoke, I might get them looked at. Anyway going back to the silver stars, I replaced my low beams, with a conversion kit from autooptiks.com, and fog lights and holy hell they are freakin bright. I also replaced the running/parking light housing with a new one from autobodypartsbuy.com, you can see the difference in the third pic.

It either got wet, has a short somewhere or an improper bulb was used!

Mine looked the same way when I pulled them at 7,000 miles. How do the new SilverStar DRLs look with clear corners? Are they anybrighter than stock, any pics?

The fog lights are 880 ST and here is a pic with the parking lights on. It's kinda dark but you can tell it's brighter.

Mine looked the same way when I put in my clear corners. Stock with about 30k, burnt to a crisp. There have been more than a few people on our club list that have reported the same thing.

I got the 880 ST from Sylvania's website. Well I guess if everyone else has the same problem, I won't worry too much.
