Default 2000 6.0 questions

i have a 2000 6.0 and have been reading about the long crank and short crack my plans for this eng is to rebuild and install it in a 94 s10 with a 4l60e trans if im right may eng has the long crank and this will cause problems with the trans/converter. so my question is when i am rebuilding my eng can i use a crank out of a 01+ newer eng but still run my stock rods with new pistons
please help new to the ls family thanks

You can swap the crank without problems. Can you post a pic of the rear of the motor?

You can also run any pre-LS trans behind that engine already. Just use the 6.0 flex plate and elongate the holes for the bolts as needed. Your 4l60e will already bolt up and work. It's exactly what I'm doing, everything has been test fit, and so your home work is done there.

If it has iron heads, it old enough that it will have the longer crank. I don't think the 60E will bolt up. The convertor will stick out about .400 too far. Use the 80E that came with the motor if you can make it fit into the S10. It's a much tougher tranny.
