Default turbo 5.3 or 6.0 what should I expect

I got a v8 s10 and first thing to come out of it is the 305... I want a turbo lsx and the things are cheap this will be a junkyard build for sure motor wise.

Im not sure which one to run yet, as Im looking for 600hp and not expecting it to the wheels. Ive seen articles of 800 plus engine dyno sessions, but I want to know my motors going to last as good as a stocker can.

This will be a driver as I plan on going on the power tour next year with it. (if I can get off work) Ii figured 400 plus to the wheels is enough for a fun daily driver?

and Im thinking of putting the truck on meth injection.

if theres anything ya can contribute as to problems Ill hit let me know!

i wouldnt bother with meth injection unless your going to run fuel lower than 93 octane. i had a 5.3 in my s10 with a rear mounted 76mm and ran it up to 18lbs until i blew a head gasket. took it apart and the rotating assembly looked perfect. it really boils down to the tune in these engines. if my tranny wasnt having issues im sure i was making near 600whp+ at 18lbs. i found a good deal on an lq4 so im doing twin gt35's now and looking for 5-600whp on low boost and 700+ with more boost. if i were you, i would find an lq4 and throw a cam in with springs and run two ebay turbos. i say twins because your going to have a street truck i assume, and making instant boost is fun. street cars dont like lag!!! with the 6.0, youll be able to run lower boost and reach your goals no problem.

ive got a cammed 6liter with a t76 turbo, on 10 pounds of boost it put down 640whp 670tq...and that with lower'ish timing..

just to give you an idea of what you can expect.
also, ive YET to put meth on, which ive got the kit already, just havent installed

the build we just did for my friend is a great example i would say

junkyard 5.3, ls9 cam, cheap springs, ARP studs, used s475, th400, ls6 intake, 607rwhp thru the unlocked th400 and 28 inch slicks on a mustang dyno on 22lbs of boost

pumpgas+methanol

If you have E85 available, I would consider that before meth. But either way, 93 alone is far more than sufficient for 400whp

you could easily do 500 to the wheels and that is a ******* burnout machine, trust me lol

lots of fun for a street car to cook them off at 80mph on the highway
