Hey guys. I'm swapping a lm7 in my 1967 Chevelle.
The car is painted, bagged, and has a completely new steering and suspension.
So far here is what I did for a motor.
LKQ 5.3 / 706 heads. I cleaned detailed and painted it to match the car.
MSD6LS / Edelbrock dual plane / Holley 650 DP
TX Speed 220/224 .581 112 and PAC1218 springs, new valve seals, 7.4 Hardened pushrods, LS6 lifters and trays, ARP head bolts. Cleaned up the heads with a valve job and resurface and added new stock thickness MLS gaskets.
Melling high flow oil pump. New timing chain. Holley swap pan. Holley engine adapter mounts. MSD starter. Hedman Hustler mid length headers. Truck accessories. No AC.
Hughes/GMPP turbo 350 LS conversion setup with a 2700 stall. (manual to follow someday $$$)
I have a pair of old Air Research turbos on a shelf that might wind up spinning again soon. Who knows. So far this is supposed to be a "low budget" build but it sure doesn't feel that way. I am using an iPad an am clearly too stupid to post pictures with it. Otherwise I'd share a few.
I could really use a hand with detail oriented pictures of how you guys plumbed gauges, steamlines, crankcase vents, electrical, etc. I have seen fifty "under the hood" shots taken from the front bumper. I am looking for some close detail stuff. I also wanted to thank you all. I learned so much from this site, it is priceless. I will update the build from time to time.

Today was a fun day. I ordered so much stuff I thought visa was going to shut my card down.
I got a TCI Super Streetfighter TH 400 recently. $100 for fluid and a dipstick....who knew.

I went and bought a TCI Outlaw pistol grip shifter.
I purchased a Quickfuel Q750 mech sec, no choke drag race 4150, fuel lines and log.
This came today from Amazon for $247 thanks to the Buick guys rec.

I bought one of these. It is blue like the motor.

I am sort of kicking myself for not going total retro Chevy orange on everything, but the blue goes with the rest of the car.
And lastly I purchased a complete bolt-in 3:89 Ford 9" from Quick Performance in Iowa.
It was an expensive day. The next couple weeks are going to be like Xmas time.

LOL. Visa once called me and said to give them a heads up before spending so much in a short period of time. I did just that before buying a motor and trans.

A little bit of progress Saturday. Work is killing me. I just dont have time for things lately. I at least got the engine compartment clear for some detailing.
http://i403.photobucket.com/albums/pp119/sugardick_2008/DSC_0729.jpg
The TH400 I bought used with "only 5k" on it was 100% useless. Every internal part was shot except maybe the planetary setup. The grooves in the drums were deep enough to lay a dime in. The scum bag I bought it from actually put fresh fluid in it and painted it silver for the sale. Mullet wearing midget Ernest January of Melbourne, FL who doesnt return my calls or emails, you can go to hell. Thanks for teaching me a lesson. Anyway, I ended up with putting that lousy experience aside and moving on. I bought a Hughes TH400 and the 25hd converter. The lower stall is probably better off anyway. Here are the motors old and new. http://i403.photobucket.com/albums/pp119/sugardick_2008/DSC_0744.jpg
I will detail the engine bay, finish plumbing the new fuel system and get the LS in by next weekend hopefully.

This is pretty much the setup I am going with. 2.5" pipes from my mid length Headmans to X to Magnaflow in/out same side mufflers to side pipes dumped on a 45 before the rear wheels.

This color combo is all over the place. I thought it was unique for a minute. Clean engine bay. I just don't have the time to detail mine like that. Good job.

Things are moving slow. I cleaned up the engine compartment and routed wiring up into the wheel wells. I hung the new 9" rear and new tubular control arms. I plumbed fuel line. I went with a Fst performance filter (very nice by the way http://fstperformance.com/ ) to a walbro 255 -6 to a Mallory bypass fpr, -8 return to the original tank filler. I previously added a competition engineering sump to my OEM galvanized 67 tank. I live down the road from Racepartsolutions so I have gone through a multitude of fuel fittings and lines to get it all proper. I installed the 5.3 and Hughes th400 connected all as one. It was a tight squeeze but with no rad it wasnt so bad. The motor dropped down onto those hooker swap plates like butter. My Hedman mid length ls swap headers fit first shot. I had to dent them a little to clear my MSD starter. I sent them for ceramic coating Monday. The Griffin Ls swap radiator fit perfect. I moved the 6010 to the wheel well, the Quickfuel was bumping the box. I have to cut the driveshaft and install the new exhaust and I should be rolling. I know there are a hundred little details to finish, but the light at the end of the tunnel is near. I included a pic of my Wegner steam line fittings and the -4 push lock to a T for the line to the rad.

I did go to Abacoa previously, but I swore no car events at all until I could drive mine there myself. There just arent enough hours in the day anymore. The build is nearly done, so look for me up there in June for sure. Say hello in person.

I definitly will. I will have my truck there but not in the show. It will be in "sleeper" status for awhile. Can't wait to see your car in person.
