higher stall torque converter dis-advantages
Is the stock torque converter 'stall' 2200 for 2WD 4L60e?
The conversion is a stock 300HP 5.3 in a 3600 pound (dry) A-body with 2.73 gears?
The stock converter will work fine, but can obviously be upgrade to a higher stall.
What are the dis-advantages of higher stall torque converter?

Disadvantages,
A stall creates a lot more heat which kills transmissions, you should run the largest cooler you can.
The rpms 'hover' at certain points depending on throttle input etc. Not the best for mpg
Those are the only two real disadvantages I can think of. Chose wisely when selecting a stall. The tighter it is the more like stock the car will drive. Dont go stupid huge if its a street car, but dont go to small either or you will be wanting more. For street cars a 3,000-3800 rpm is a good range to look at.
Yanks ss3200 and ss3600 are well liked. I had performabuilt make me a custom 9" 3k stall for my h/c trans am and it was great. Very tight, put the power down in a very useable way.
