Default 97 trams am new lt4

hey everybody ,new to the community and need some info. Just installed a 383 stroker with lt4 cam ,eldebrock lt4 intake ,58 mm throttle body ,along with other hi-po mods.Have serious concerns about the stock wiring harness and where to send my ecu to be programmed.Any suggestions on where to get a replacement harness, seems GM discontinued it and everywhere i have called says their harnesses are made to swap a lt1 into another vehicle! Thanks

Oh boy here we go again. Don't be offended but alot of people are going to bash your build. But anyways, leave the harness alone, go to pcmforless for a mail order tune.

Yeah you're going to get picked apart on your cam decision and intake....
But anyway, why do you need a new harness???
Send your PCM to PCMforless for a tune or get it dyno tuned.

I'm going to go ahead and say right now that that cam is way to small for a 383. You're leaving a lot on the table. Please tell me you had the heads ported at least??

You didn't even tell us what the car is.

The harness unless specifically damaged is the least of your concerns.

Its got 97 T/A LT4 on the post LoL Why do you need / want a new harness??? If theres broke connectors get new pigtails & the heatshrink with solder to repair the ends!!! A 383 really likes a cam in the .23x @ .05 intake range A hot cam leaves a lot to be desired with a 383 BUT I will say atleast its all a starting point

Let's see if I can guess your build:

Cast 383 eagle crank
Eagle 383 rotating assembly
Stock unported lt1 heads
Lt4 hotcam
Pump gas friendly 10.4:1 compression
Edelbrock red lt1 intake manifold
Stock 10 bolt rear
Shorty headers
2800 stall
Hypertech tuner

Im a stickler on quality parts But I do realize Not everyone can afford a Callies Dragonslayer crank , Howards billet rods & custom JE nitrous pistons for their first build!!!! Maybe hes got a Scat cast assy but He was atleast smart enough to keep the cam at a level where **** wont break!!!! Give the guy a break & Help with the problem!!! For Once!!

I didnt mean to come off as a dick, this build has been done before, 340 rwhp 380 tq shift at 5800 daily drivable.

Op, get a mail order as a baseline, then dyno tune. There should be no reason to replace the harness unless mice ate it

The LT4 intake was matched to LT4 heads, right? Otherwise, there is going to be a terrible mismatch to LT1 heads. Please clarify.

Just to clarify the Edelbrock LT4 intake probably has a bad missmatch when mated to LT1 heads but the LT4 intake ports themselves match LT1 ports very well because interanlly it is the same as the later LT1 intakes, just material above the port gets in the way of bolting it up.

The OP is pretty typical though, did an engine build THEN asked questions. Judging from the lack of a second most by him I am guessing he doesn't like what has been said. Judging by when he was last active he probably already saw up through post 9.
