Default Looking for machine shop in North ATL metro area

I'm finally ready to do the head/cam swap and since the motor is out I'm probably going to go ahead and rering and hone the block. So I need a good machine shop, and I want to go somewhere that has a lot of LS experience.

I have contacted proline and Lamar Walden, and have heard good reviews on both. Does everyone like Lamar Walden? He was extremely friendly on the phone gave me a quote right there, really impressed. I've been going to NOMSG in sugar hill and have always been happy, but they have never built an LS so I'm worried about that. Machinist is excellent though.

Any other suggestions? Any bad feedback about Lamar Walden or Proline?

Thanks,

Ryan

I have never personally used Lamar Walden, but I know people who have and they are very happy with the work.

Vengeance Racing is a big LS shop and they deal with proline exclusively for all their motors.

Well just for future reference, I ended up going with Lamar Walden and I couldn't be happier with the customer service or machine work. The motor looks phenomenal and they were very helpful at every step of the way. I guess we will see what happens when I crank this thing up. I ended up doing a 403 stroker with ls3 heads, so it should be fun.

If you need a old school Chevy 409 Lamar Walden is the place to go. They have been doing this hot rod thing for many decades. They are good on LS engines too. Proline is also very good. You can't go wrong with either shop.

Do Proline and/or Lamar Walden do porting? If so, can you post or PM me contact info. Thanks.
