Default ls6 spun cam bearings

so i just picked up a LS6 from a 04 cts-v it is a short block($300 on craigslist). the engine had spun two of the forward cam bearings, is this repairable. i have built alot of engines but have never mest with spun cam bearings, from what i can tell it from looking at the cam and and bearing journal surface it looks repairable. also i want to run ls3 heads anything special need to be done to bolt them up thanks. hope to get some pics up of cam journals later.

Usually happens because of any one of three reasons - lack of lubrication, too tight of clearance, engine assembled incorrectly/user error.

Any black or brown marks showing overheating?

I believe clevite sells a 77 series bearing for LS6's but i cannot remember if they sell them in 40 over size. You may be able to machine it out and save it.

took alittle closer look all the other bearings are in place other than the front. need to ask if he had removed or it was gone when he tore it down. here are a few pics from the front also measured front journal its at 2.31 or so with ID calipers.

is it basically the same LS6 that came in the vettes with the 243 heads, LS6 intake, and cam? And you got it for 300? is it typically cheaper to get those parts by finding an ls6 out of a cts? Because I would really like to get the 243 heads, cam and intake just to bump up the power a little.

Ahh, I see short block. So that means no heads, cam or intake, lol right?

well did alot of calling around to some top engine LS engine builders with not much luck. but called texas spped and they said they had a similar issue and to try the dura bond CH23 bearings because they run bigger for the newer gen LS engines so i just ordered a set since they are only $20. hope it works other wise ill have to get a hole block which sucks since the rest block is mint other than the one cam bore.
