Default '12 5.0 vs '13 5.0

Sorry for the lack of LSX. Anyways,

My good friend purchased an X Pipe for his '13 5.0 and I installed it for him today. Our other buddy with a '12 5.0 came over to bullshit as well and we figured we would do a run or two.

'12 5.0:

-Intake
-X Pipe
-Tune
-M6 w/ 3:31's

'13 5.0:
-X Pipe
-No Tune
-M6 w/ 3:73's

I should note that the '12 5.0 driver recently had a surgery and couldn't shift up to normal potential. From what I took the '12 was pulling but the shifts were hurting him.

I was driving the '13, I wanted some type of payment for the work There will be a rematch once the '13 is tuned. Also, sorry for the shaky camera.

Both cars had 1 passenger, ~20mph roll.

Enjoy!

And here's a pic of the '13

Thanks!

I ran the '12 when it was stock and got him by about 1.5-2 cars from 45mph. The '13 I got a couple short runs with me ending up about .5-1 cat ahead. I'm sure it's a different story now lol.

I noticed that! The '12 really woke up with the mods and tune, a lot.

I like the front end of the new 13s, but the hood looks horrible. The vent design looks extremely lazy and reminds me of the lazy/cheap looking side vents on the old BMW Z3 (or a 67-68 Camaro without the cowl hood option).

Good runs though, couple of sweet rides.

You know in person I don't think they're too bad, they've grown on me. Plus the fact that they're actually functional makes it a little better.

Get a tune in the 13 and they should be neck and neck. Driver will seperate them. The 13's got a claimed 8hp increase but it has shown to do nothing. No better track times or dyno numbers. Depending what tune each runs could make the cars totally different.

I know they're functional, but it doesn't seam it would have been that difficult to make them both functional and more attractive/modern looking.

Oh well, still neat cars

He should have a tune a week or so. Once the other guy can shift faster
it should be a good race, we'll get a vid of the rematch.

Yea I see your point. They definitely could have made them more aesthetically pleasing.

I'm a broke college student so I don't really have the financial assets to do that right now lol. If I were to trade up for anything though it would be a C6 or C6Z. That will be my next upgrade after I graduate. I don't think I'll ever be getting rid of the WS6.

I do love the new 5.0's though.
